Digitalisation and IT modernisation in Bavaria continues to gather pace. To support this, the Bavarian State Ministry of Digital Affairs (StMD) invited tenders for a master agreement for various IT services. mgm technology partners has now been awarded the contract as general contractor together with KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft and Höhn Consulting as one of seven companies. The framework agreements have a term of four years and a combined maximum call-off volume of 60 million euros.

  • mgm wins contract as general contractor with KPMG and Höhn Consulting
  • Total volume of up to 60 million euros and a four-year term for all bidders

“As a company founded in Munich, we are delighted to be able to support the Bavarian Digital Ministry with our technology and consulting expertise,” said Hamarz Mehmanesh, co-founder and CEO of mgm. “Together with the experts from KPMG and Höhn Consulting, we are looking forward to the diverse projects in the coming years.”

Services: Software development, project management and more

The areas of responsibility of the framework contracts put out to tender include software development, maintenance and further development, project management and project support services as well as services from the IT consulting sector. The StMD invited eleven suitable companies to submit bids after a public tendering competition. For the seven companies with master agreement, there are no fixed projects and budgets; rather, there will be a renewed and shortened award procedure for each project and individual contract from the framework agreement.

For these mini-competitions mgm, together with KPMG and Höhn Consulting, can offer a differentiated range of consulting and IT implementation services. “The thematic breadth of the commissioned framework agreement makes it possible to award contracts taking into account all aspects touched upon in each case. This promises exciting challenges for us as a contractor and holistic consulting and support with a lasting effect for the State Ministry for Digital Affairs,” Thomas Höhn, Managing Director of Höhn Consulting, is pleased to say.

In Germany, KPMG is one of the leading auditing and consulting firms. The organisational, procedural and technical aspects of digitalisation represent an important focus of the consulting spectrum. The Public Sector Consulting division explicitly provides consulting expertise on the modernisation of public administration in Germany. “The OZG implementation is an exciting opportunity to optimise administrative services,” says Michael Köhler, Director in Public Sector Consulting. “We are therefore looking forward to tackling such a task together with this strong team in Bavaria.”
